I had a wonderful week attending the Bioresearch annual conference in Milwaukee Wisconsin learning new strategies to better treat full mouth reconstruction dental cases, TMJ, and sleep disordered patients in our practice. The attendees came from all over the U.S., Canada, South America, and even Russia. It was an intensive 3 days of presentations from 8 a.m. to late in the evening with few breaks along the way. The weather was terrific and the Doctors were some of the top in the nation providing extensive dental services of full mouth reconstruction, all the way from craniofacial pain to airway issues. The conference focuses on treating our patients using quantifiable data produced by highly advanced computerized jaw diagnostics. Each doctor uses the instrumentation in a myriad of ways so they will for three days share new ways in which we can use to better treat you our patients. I learned a new technique to take a phonetic bite which utilized this instrumentation which can precisely reposition the jaw in the optimum neutral muscular position which translates to less adjustment and precise bite placement. It is both measurable and reproducible. Prior to this technique I could get close but patients would move and I would have to guess where the position was based on watching where the jaw was at this physiological position. This should cut down on adjustments and a improved fit to the bite in a neuromuscular position that is physiologically superior. Only the top 3% of the doctors out there are doing these procedures so make sure you use us for your dental care.
